VEGAS!!!

*************finally need to post about our awesome trip to vegas! clint had to help run a booth at the parker seminar in vegas this year so we made a little trip of it...i was super excited about it 'cause i got to meet up and hang out with two long-lost friends of mine Amy & Myra, that i recently got back in touch with (thank you facebook!) it has been about 12 years since i moved away from these girls and we had so many great junior high memories together....the good old days! (helene we missed you there!) anyways, we stayed on the strip, hung out there the whole time, ate at the stratasphere, did not gamble (just couldnt resist the pic though, we then were told we had to leave because you're not allowed near gambling with a child...oops! of course!), and enjoyed sunny weather...

i just can't! she really knows what she wants, that's for dang sure. i'm learning to draw the line between spoiling and being a good mom...any tips?

we have had snow the last three days...not rain! Carly's first snow...so we had to play!

He is with his wife now!

We all got the news last night that our beloved Prophet and leader, President Gordon B. Hinckley, who led our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) through the last 12 years, died last night at the age of 97. It is amazing all that he has done for our church and now he is finally at rest. Though we will miss him I am filled with peace and joy knowing that he is where he needs to be, he is home. Also, he is with his wife! He has expressed how bad he has missed her since her passing, on several occasions. I am so grateful for all that President Hinckley has done for us, and how faithfully he served God and this church. We will miss him!!

10-day forcast

had to enjoy a little more sun while it lasted... why? because as far as the 10-day forcast is concerned it's suppose to continue to rain...yes, for 10 straight days...again!!!

violin lessons

**********i just started violin lessons!!! i bought this violin a few months ago but haven't done much with it (until now)...i use to play, i played for 5 years and quit when it wasn't so "cool" in high school anymore...so i really want to reclaim the musical talent that i once had, so here's my attempt!

so i am so stoked that the last three days, including today has been sunny! this is big people! it has been a long dark rainy winter, with no sun! its really hard on me! i am a SUN GIRL! i have to learn to cope with the lack of sunshine now in my life...coming from TX to portland is a major transition for me...i just tell clint that the trade off will be lots of traveling each year around winter! too bad it is still frigid cold outside (32 degrees right now) so i took a few pics inside...CANT WAIT FOR SPRING!

seattle

this last weekend was spent in seattle...took tons of pics but didnt download all of the rest from our little digital camera...so maybe ill post those later? anyways we saw seattle and stayed with our friends visiting from texas, dan and jenny sillito. we had a blast! we rode the ferry into downtown seattle (where i took these pics) saw the space needle, pikes market, ate and ivers fish and chips for lunch, and another awesome seafood place for dinner out on the water...of course it rained the whole time but thats to be expected!

totally like the movie "the christmas story" i had to get carly in this fuzzy little bear outfit i bought last year, before she's too big! she is growing so fast, she will be 16 months this month! 2 1/2 until nursery...yay!

christmas...was interesting! really it was so great to be in TX and see the family and a few friends that were still in town and do some shopping, and just feel like i was home...christmas day however the WHOLE family got sick and so that is how we spent the day...sick and throwing up! what memories. other than that everything was great! christmas eve we had an awesome dinner and tiffany and jordon webber were able to come, so exctied for my friends tiffany who is due in Feb! wish i would have taken more pics of christmas and of carly with her toys but i just wasnt feelingup to par! OH, and clint got me a new 75-300mm cannon zoom lense. i am very happy about that...i am dreaming of a 40D camera right now...i really want won...maybe next christmas!

this year i just wasn't on the ball enough to get out our christmas cards on time. so at the last second a friend just snapped a picture...nothing professional or anything but its something... this is my excuse for a christmas card, a post on my blog...and emailing it out! Officially it feels like christmas! this last weekend we went on the polar express, drove through christmas lights, decorated our apt & put up the tree, and ate lots of junk! we visited the lights and went to VOODOO DONUTS with our friends wyatt and brittany. It’s supposed to be famous in portland for their donuts and since i usually dont like donuts, i have to say they were awesome! there were some with cocoa puffs and other crazy toppings...i think we ordered the biggest ones they had!

we went to mount hood last friday to ride the "polar express" with some friends ... it was a cool reinactment of the movie! we rode the train, sang christmas carols, ate cookies & had hot chocolate, and santa visited after we stopped by the "north pole" and gave each child a bell...carly didnt take to santa to well!
